Valheim Recycle is a mod for the world of Valheim. It offers a new tab called the Recycle tab. The mod allows you to get the resources back from the items you crafted or upgraded. You can get the items back via the new tab or the workbench. The new tab is available at the crafting UI. It can be found at the bottom of the crafting menu.
It should hopefully incentivize you to upgrade your gear more instead of making it feel like the resources are going to be wasted when you move on to the next tier. Furthermore, it should free up some stash space:).
Known issues:
The mod requires you to patch a lot of existing UI components and methods. It is required to patch the GUI and the user interface. It is required to add a new tab to the crafting menu.
